It was released about a month or so ago, I think. The most current firmware rev for the E-P1 is 1.3. I could be wrong though.Īlso the new firmware is supposedly not available until the 22nd so what ever firmware you guys have been upgrading to is most likely a prior version.īTW the official announcement has charts showing speed improvements we should expect: I think MTP is for printing directly from the camera. Sorry I'm so helpless with acronyms, may I know what MTP stands for? It did sound like an issue with the Oly server in your original post, which can happen to even the mighty Google from time to time. I have no clue why it is not working with snow leopard. I used to have an E-500 and never had any problems updating it.

I've updated E-P1 several times (from 1.0 to 1.1 to 1.2 to 1.3), all of my m4/3rds lenses, an E-3 body and several 4/3rds lenses using Master software on a Mac. I have always chosen the 'Storage' option and I've never had a problem.

I usually use “MTP” just to connect to iPhoto as I can just unplug it without unmounting it, but for the update task it has to be set to “Storage”, so that it appears as a drive. I’ve never had a problem, but there’s two ways of connecting the E-P body to the Mac: “Storage” or “MTP” - which way are you using? Try it with the body explicitly set to “Storage” for this task. I checked the mac version again and still the software did not recognize the camera. I did the update and the body is now on 1.3 and the lens on 1.1.

I had to install windows on my mac, fiddle with the update software (had to take the memory card out of the camera to do the upate) and all of a sudden, Olympus Master recognized my camera. Well, I finally managed to install the firmware update, but it was a PAIN. Didn't do the trick for me, it is not working. I also downloaded the software from the internet. Thanks for that, I will do that when my camera gets here, instead of using the CD. I downloaded it off the web, I have never opened the cd that came with the camera. I use the Olympus Digital Camera updater. I have Snow Leopard and things are working good. Would love to know if you get it to work? I am expecting my camera any day now and will try the update too, I have the same operating system as you. Is this just an issue with Olympus' server? Or is something else wrong? It does connect to the camera, but the window with version information of the camera remains empty. When I click on the menu, camera version information, it does not show anything. However, when I follow the instructions I constantly get an error: cannot connect to server (error 20).Īnother thing that strikes me, is the Olympus master software does not recognize my camera. I am trying to update the firmware by using the Olympus Master software (latest version installed, 2.3). I just purchased a Pen E-P1 and it still has firmware 1.0 on it installed.
